Beware the now-bundled Ask.com toolbar in Java Update
The latest Java update for Macs now come with adware. If you install the update via Java.com you will be prompted to install an Ask.com toolbar, it will also change your default search engine to Ask.com.
If you update Java regularly, you can avoid installing this adware by de-selecting the checkbox “Set Ask.com as my browser homepage” as show in the image below:
If you have not updated Java lately and will need to in order to run specific programs, we recommend installing this Java update provided by Apple.
